Kenny Roberts

Director, Invariant
Kenny Roberts serves as a Director at Invariant. He handles Invariant’s energy,
transportation, infrastructure, and DEI issues. In addition, Roberts also focuses on
workforce issues, advancing opportunities for Hispanic and Black communities. He
works closely with members of the U.S. House Committee on Energy & Commerce,
House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Senate Commerce,
Science & Transportation Committee. He also works with senior officials within the
White House.

Before Invariant, Kenny was Director of Federal Relations at the American Petroleum
Institute (API). He served as the chief lobbyist on Midstream issues, focusing on
communicating the value of America’s pipelines and unionized workforce to the White
House and Capitol Hill.

Prior to API, Roberts was the Senior Regional Development Manager at the
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI). While there, he worked to advance
opportunities for Hispanic Americans, especially in the Energy and Financial Services
industries.

Roberts also served as the Director of Corporate Affairs at the United States Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) and on Secretary Hillary Clinton’s National Advance
team. He has served as a personal aide to the Secretary and President Bill Clinton.

Earlier in his career, Roberts worked for former West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller
IV and former Puerto Rico Congressman and now Governor Pedro Pierluisi.
Roberts serves as the Chairman of the Berkeley County Democratic Executive
Committee. He oversees the operations of one of West Virginia’s most important
Democratic organizations, heading strategy and fundraising for the group.

Roberts is an Advisory Board Member for the Bank of Charles Town (BCT), Young
Professional’s Board Chairman for So Others May Eat (S.O.M.E.), Advisory Council
Member for the NextGen Chamber Commerce as well as serving on the Investment
Committee for the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation (EWVCF).

Roberts is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College, where he received his B.A. in
Political Science & Communications and also currently serves on the Alumni Executive
Council. In addition to completing an executive certificate in Non-Profit/Organizational
Management from Southern Methodist University (SMU), he completed a graduate
program in Energy Management from the Neely School of Business at Texas Christian
University (TCU).
