Bo Machayo

Bo Machayo has a decade of experience and background in both as a public policy and public engagement advisor with stakeholders and elected officials at the local, state and federal government level. He has worked on a wide range of domestic and foreign policy issues - particularly relating to African diaspora and development, economic development and the environment - and have successfully passed legislation, formed coalitions, and accomplished organizational goals throughout his career, including as a political appointee at the White House during the Obama Administration.

He is currently the Regional Director for U.S. Senator Mark Warner. He previously worked in Loudoun County government, the U.S. African Development Foundation, the Obama White House Council on Environmental Quality, and the Department of Homeland Security. Bo graduated from Wake Forest with degrees in Economics and International Affairs, and by December 2020 will complete a Master’s in Public Administration at George Mason. Inspired by his background as a first-generation Ugandan-Kenyan-American, he has worked to serve his community through a nonprofit he co-founded: Global Inheritance.
